TSBG Announces COVID-19 Relief Program Awarded to Three Non-Profits

charity

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL, May 5, 2020 — The State Bank Group recently applied for relief grants, on behalf of three McHenry County non-profit organizations, through The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago’s (FHLBC) COVID-19 Relief Program. The FHLBC awarded $20,000 in total to the following local recipients: Mainstay Therapeutic Farms ($7,000), United Way of McHenry County ($6,500), and Turning Point ($6,500.)

The State Bank Group (former) President & CEO Michelle Toll said, “these relief funds are urgently needed for our area’s non-profits, and as a community bank, we are doing everything we can to help our neighbors take advantage of any and all special financial grants that we become aware of.” The FHLBC COVID-19 Relief Program consists of zero-rate advances and grants to support all of its member institutions and the communities they serve in Illinois and Wisconsin directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FHLBC informed financial institutions about this new program in April, and Toll took immediate notice of it. Toll states the application process was “simple and straightforward.” She added, "With the non-profits in our area already financially stretched prior to COVID-19, the adverse economic impact of the shutdown is hitting these organizations particularly hard. Yet, during this time the services they provide are needed the most. We are grateful to have been awarded this grant to help provide much needed funds to these groups who help the most vulnerable among us."

The FHLBC’s COVID-19 Relief Program opened on Monday, April 27, with funding available through Friday, May 22. Those interested in more information about this grant program should visit FHLBC.com.

The State Bank Group, is a locally-owned community bank established in 1979, with eight locations throughout McHenry County, Illinois.
